Engaging Science through LEGO Spike Kits

LEGO bricks aren’t just for playtime — they’re powerful tools for hands-on scientific learning.

Jenna Srivastava, an 8th grade science teacher at Berlin Middle School, received a grant from the Olentangy Education Foundation (OEF) to purchase LEGO Education SPIKE coding kits. While students are busy building, programming, and testing their models, they are also strengthening engineering skills, critical thinking, and persistence through real-world problem solving.

“The students have enjoyed using the kits to build and program robots, enhancing their problem-solving and teamwork skills in the process,” Jenna said. “It's been an engaging way for them to explore coding and develop creativity!”
