Recognize an Outstanding OLSD Employee through OEF's SHOUTOUTS Program!

It’s that time of the year when we reflect upon the last school year and think about the people that made this year special for your child. Whether it’s a special teacher who helped your child overcome a difficult project, or a music teacher that encouraged your child to try out for a role in the school’s musical, or perhaps it’s the kind and gentle bus driver who goes above and beyond to ensure your child’s safety and your comfort in knowing they are in good hands. These are all people that you can recognize through OEF’s ShoutOuts Program.

It’s so easy! Click on the button below and follow the instructions to complete the online submission. It’s guaranteed to put on a special OLSD employee’s face!

The NEW Olentangy Alumni Association

Dear Olentangy Graduate,

As an alumni of Olentangy Schools, you know that our schools are the backbone of our community. Whether it has been 5 years or 50 years since you graduated, we hope that you look back on your time in Olentangy Schools with fond memories and as a time that allowed for you to flourish both academically and out of the classroom.

In an effort to foster and develop pride and partnership among alumni, students, and the Olentangy community, the trustees of the Olentangy Education Foundation have established the Olentangy Alumni Association. We want keep Olentangy Alumni connected to their alma mater and each other.

Any graduate of an Olentangy High School is automatically a member of the Olentangy Alumni Association. We invite you to stay connected by sharing your current contact information here.

As a new organization, it will take us some time to get fully up and running, but we plan to recognize alumni, announce community and school events, and build a strong network of Olentangy alumni.  If you'd like to stay even more connected, we invite you to follow the Olentangy Alumni Association on social media.

If you are interested in helping keep our schools connected with our community, please contact us.  We are open to ideas you may have. We are excited to grow and look forward to connecting with you!

Sertoma Establishes Reitter Family Memorial Fund

The Olentangy Education Foundation (OEF) is an organization that partners with the Olentangy Local School District to support and fund enhanced educational experiences for students across the whole district. OEF’s initiatives are focused on providing staff grants for innovative programs and learning opportunities for which tax dollars are not available.

Recently, the Tri-Village Sertoma organization established the Reitter Family Memorial Fund through the OEF, to honor the memory of the Reitter Family who were tragically killed in May 2019 by a carbon-monoxide leak in their home. Grants made in memory of the Reitter family will be used to enhance the educational experience of students across Olentangy Schools for years to come.

Tri-Village Sertoma is part of Sertoma International, an organization with service clubs in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The club's mission is to raise funds to donate to non-profit charitable organizations.  Tri-Village Sertoma has raised and donated over $1 million to charitable organizations in their history. They support other non-profits, such as Columbus Speech & Hearing, the James Cancer Research, and the Alzheimers Association.

The Tri-Village Sertoma 2020 Charity Challenge 5K and 1 mile Funwalk will further support the Reitter Family Memorial Fund through the  Olentangy Education Foundation.  The community is invited to participate on Saturday, August 15 at Highbanks Metropark.
